I don’t know where January and February went. 2025 came in and kicked my whole entire *ss. I had grand plans for all kinds of blog posts and newsletters. They went right out the window. My brother had a health set back, my daughter had the flu and hubby was on the other side of the country. Black History Month flew by but, I made it to March! This newsletter should have come out last Thursday but hey…life be lifing :-)
The Recipe: February Flashback
If you are new here, let me share that I am a plant-based advocate. That means I am excited about finding new ways to get more fruits, grains and vegetables on your plate. I am also studying to become a nutritionist. All I can say is….whew!!!!

Women's History Month: Spotlight on Culinary Legend Edna Lewis (April 13, 1916 – February 13, 2006)
Edna Lewis was more than a cook. She was a smart and savvy entrepreneur who helped the world appreciate soul food and southern cooking techniques. Born in Freetown,Virginia and the descendant of slaves, she went on to become a culinary icon.
She was an advocate for locally sourced foods and farm to table dining before it was a thing. Watch this video from PBS to learn more about Chef Lewis: https://www.pbs.org/video/finding-edna-lewis-qzdog1/
